René Groeneveld

Partner, SVP, Head of Global Sales and Marketing Practice

René is Dutch but born and raised in Germany. After school he did a commercial trainee program at Bayer AG in Germany. During this time, he mainly worked in global marketing, product management, sales, KAM, controlling and finance. In 1995 he founded MTAC as an international training and consulting company which joined the bts group in 2017, he now lives in Switzerland and is the global lead for our sales and marketing CoE.Previous experienceParallel to his trainee programme, Rene studied business administration at the University of Cologne (focus on marketing, finance, controlling, taxes), law at the University of Düsseldorf (focus on labour and business law) and psychology at the University of Hagen (focus on organisational, occupational and motivational psychology). He then taught at the University of Cologne and other Swiss and German universities for many years.Area of expertise at bts & industry experienceRené is an experienced facilitator, expert consultant, and inspiring coach in several industries (e.g. life sciences, chemicals, tech, automotive and services). He’s been involved in international training and facilitation for major blue-chip companies but also SMEs in the area of strategy, marketing, sales, leadership, innovation, general management and finance for over 25 years. He is an expert in go-to-market transformations and sales and marketing excellence.
